EVEN THOUGH I’M BROKEN, GOD WANTS ME TO HAVE A BRAND NEW VIEW

Mark 8:33 (NLT)

Jesus turned around and looked at his disciples, then reprimanded Peter. “Get away from me, Satan!” he said. “You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.”

WHY DO I NEED A BRAND NEW VIEW?

SIN SEPERATES ME FROM GOD AND SKEWS MY VIEW

Isaiah 59:1-3 (AMP)

Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened at all, that it cannot save, nor His ear dull with deafness, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue mutters wickedness.

Romans 3:23 (NLT)

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.

WHAT IS SIN?

1 John 1:8-10 (NIV)

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

JESUS’ BLOOD FORGIVES AND COVERS MY SIN

Romans 3:24-26 (NLT)

24 Yet God freely and graciously declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.

Ephesians 2:13 (NLT)

But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.

Hebrews 10:19-20 (NLT)

And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. 20 By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place.

I AM SECURE

• 2 Timothy 1:7 I have not been given a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind

I AM SIGNIFICANT

• Matthew 5:13 I am the salt and light of the earth

• John 15:1,5 I am a branch of the true vine, a channel of His life

• John 15:16 I have been chosen and appointed to bear fruit

• Acts 1:8 I am a personal witness of Christ

• 1 Corinthians 3:16 I am God’s temple

• 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 I am a minister of reconciliation

• 2 Corinthians 6:1 I am God’s coworker

• Ephesians 2:6 I am seated with Christ in the heavenly realm

• Ephesians 2:10 I am God’s workmanship

• Ephesians 3:12 I may approach God with freedom and confidence

• Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

Romans 6:11-13 11

In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.
