Love Revolution

Ever wondered how important it is to "Love your Neighbor"?  Well I would say it is very important since it is found in the Bible 10 times.  Yes, "Loving your Neighbor"  is a big deal to God, and it should be a big deal to us as we live out this Love Revolution.

Join Pastor Jerry as he talks about our responsibility of fulfilling the final phase of the Great Commission and how to create love in our own hood.

LOVE IN MY HOOD

Pastor Jerry Jackson

OUTLINE

WE NEED A LOVE REVOLUTION IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS

JESUS MOST FAMOUS STORY THE GOOD SAMARITAN

LUKE 10:25-37 3

POSSIBLE RESPONSES TOWARD MY NEIGHBORS

1. KEEP MY DISTANCE

2. CURIOUS BUT UNINVOLVED

3. TREAT OTHERS AS I WOULD WANT TO BE TREATED

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU DO IN LIFE IS TO LOVE AS CHRIST HAS LOVED YOU

LOVE GOD AND LOVE OTHERS

The Law of Christ

MATTHEW 22:36-40 (NLT)

"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. AND the second greatest is like it: 'Love your neighbor AS yourself.' ALL the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

EPHESIANS 5:2 (NLT)

“Live a life filled with love for others, following the example of Christ, who loved you and gave himself as a sacrifice to take away your sins.”

HOW DO I LOVE MY NEIGHBORS AS MYSELF?

1. LOVE BEGINS BY LOOKING AND SEEING THE NEEDS OF OTHERS THAT ARE NEAR ME

LUKE 10:33b (NLT)

“When he saw the man's condition, his heart was filled with compassion.”

1 CORINTHIANS 10:24 (NCV)

“Look out for the good of others.”

GALATIANS 6:8a (MES)

“The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others ...harvests a crop of weeds. All he'll have to show for his life is weeds!”

4. LOVE SPENDS WHATEVER IT TAKES

LUKE 10:34-35 (NLT)

“Going over to him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with olive oil and wine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him. The next day he handed the innkeeper two silver coins, telling him, ‘Take care of this man. If his bill runs higher than this, I’ll pay you the next time I’m here.’

PROVERBS 11:17 (NLT)

“Your own soul is nourished when you are kind.”

LUKE 10:36-37 (NLT)
