Heb 12:25-29
I Those whom truly fear the Lord have reverence
of the Lord (v28-29)
A. To be in awe of the Lord (v28) (Psalm 33:8)
1. Almighty and awesome (Ps 47:7)
2. Power (Joshua 4:23-24)
3. Majesty (Jeremiah 10:7)
4. Justice (Rev 14:7)
5. Holiness (15:4)
6. Lord's blessings (Ps 67:7)
7. Goodness (I Samuel 12:24)
8. Forgiveness (Ps 130:4)
B. To be always in Love with the Lord (v28)
(Deut 10:12, I John 4:17-18, I John 5:3)
C. To be aware of the Lord and His Holiness (v29)
1. Hating evil and compromise is to fear
God (Prov 8:13)
2. Having a heart for Gods commandments is
fearing God (Psalm 34:14-15)
3. Having a desire for a God centered life is to
fear God (Prov 14:27)
4. Having an understanding our God is a
consuming fire (v29)
II Those whom truly fear the Lord will not refuse
His wisdom and insight (v25-27)
A. Receive it (Prov 1:1-3)
B. Rely on it (Prov 1:4)
C. Retain it (Prov 1:5-6)
D. Reject it not (Prov 1:7)
